*Ryu ga Gotoku: Of the End sold another 24.247 copies (grand total as of now: 376.738) , claiming the 7th position in the Japanese all format chart.
*The playable Sonic Generations demo was ripped apart by a bunch of Sonic Die-hards. They made it possible to play as ‘Classic Sonic’ in the ‘Modern Sonic’ stage. Crazy!
*Gamefront posted 6 new screenshots and the US packshot of Rise of NightMares (Kinect). It should hit the stores late August/September.

Eurogamer reports:
‘Total War: Shogun 2 won’t be getting mod tools anytime soon, developer Creative Assembly has announced, though it’s not for want of trying.
In a post on the game’s forums, community manager Craig Laycock explained that the increasing complexity of the series has made it very difficult for the studio to offer users functional editing tools.’

SEGA’s classic brawler is now available from the US PlayStation Store
($4.99, PlayStation Plus members will be able to download the game for free).

Eurogamer reports:
‘We’re delighted to announce the return of Eurogamer Expo’s Indie Arcade, which this year will be presented by publishing giant Sega and in association with Rock Paper Shotgun.
The Arcade hosts more than a dozen of the finest independently developed games - showcased for the Expo’s tens of thousands of gamers. Now entering its fourth year, submissions for 2011’s Indie Arcade are now open.
The Eurogamer Expo Indie Arcade is the biggest and longest established public showing of independently developed games in the UK. ‘
*Virtua Tennis 4 (PC) is now available from Digital Download services such
as Steam and GetGames. At just £19.99 / €29.99 it’s a bit of bargain, really.
*Yu Suzuki plans to leave his current job SEGA in September, after that he’ll ’remain on as an advisor’. Sad news, but this does not strictly mean Yu and SEGA will go their separate ways.
*Gamesradar.com talked to another SEGA legend, Yuji Naka.
*We had people building portable Dreamcasts, portable Saturns and now someone built a slightly-less-portable Game Gear. It has a bigger screen, improved battery life and also ‘takes’ Master System cartridges.
A good week for Virtua tennis 4 (thanks to Wimbledon, obviously).

Digital Spy reports:
‘BBC Earth, the natural history brand run by BBC Worldwide, has partnered with SEGA to create a “unique visitor experience” fusing nature and technology.
The partnership will bring together BBC Earth’s natural history content with SEGA’s expertise in entertainment technology to create a 4,000 sq meter, multi-level visitor experience.
According to the BBC, the experience will allow visitors to “undertake an individual adventure using their eyes, ears, hands and minds to explore the wonders of the natural world” [..]’

An overview of all the news (and it’s a LOT) found on the ‘net:

It’s been 13 years since the last commercial Master System game hit the shelves (which was Mickey´s Ultimate Challenge by TecToy, fact fans) but now Playgeneration have released a new homebrew game called Digger Chan.
To quote the official website:
‘You play as Digger Chan working for M.O.O. Milk Co, and it’s your job to go around the globe fixing the milk pipelines buried deep beneath the ground. Everyone loves having fresh cool milk available on tap, and the customers get displeased when there are problems with the pipelines, cutting off their supply of milk.
Getting down to the pipelines is not an easy job, digging is exhausting with only sporadic bottles of milk available to collect and quench your thirst. As if that wasn’t enough to worry about, rival milk companies have hidden deadly explosives in your path to disrupt your work!’
It costs just £20 and orders can be placed HERE.

Andriasang reports:
‘SEGA will release a demo of Sonic Generations tomorrow (6/23). The demo will allow players to sample the game’s first act, Green Hill Zone, using the “Classic Style” play style, and will support 3D televisions.
The demo will only be accessible for 20 days. On July 12, the demo will disappear from PSN and Xbox Live Marketplace. Downloaded versions of the demo will expire on that date and will no longer run.’

*A playable demo of Virtua Tennis 4 has hit PSN. It’s 455MB in size and ‘two evolutionary new inclusions are the use of PlayStation Move motion controller and stunning stereoscopic 3D’.
*The Japanese Famitsu magazine reviewed Power Smash 4 (a.k.a. Virtua Tennis 4, naturally) and awarded it ratings of 7/8/7/9.
*Xbox360Achievements posted a Virtua Tennis 4 1000/1000 Road Map.

Andriasang reports:
‘Yakuza Of the End started off a bit slower than its predecessors, but SEGA appears to be happy with the results so far.
The company announced today that shipments of the zombie-themed twist on the franchise have topped the 400,000 mark, just two weeks after release.
Additionally, SEGA said that the worldwide shipment figure for the full Yakuza series has topped the 5 million mark.’

Gamespot added a new Rise of Nightmares (Kinect) trailer entitled ‘Welcome to the Nightmare’ to their Youtube channel. We think it looks rather promising!

Yeah yeah, it’s still two days away, but we already can supply with some news surrounding Sonic’s 20th Anniversary.
*To celebrate Sonic’s 20th Anniversary, SEGA slashed the prices of various XBLA and PSN games and DLC. [US details][PAL details]
*Want to get hold of a copy of the original (1991) game signed by Yuji Naka himself? Take a look HERE. Alternatively you can just ‘take your copy of the game and have Yuji Naka sign it Saturday at SOS. You’re not going? Well, we hope you didn’t really fall in love with that sports car.’ (thanks: TSSZ News)
*Remember that special Sonic 20th Anniversary figurine? Well, The Mana Bar, Australia’s first video game-themed bar, will be having a 20th anniversary Sonic party on Thursday, June 23rd, and anyone who attends will be entered in a raffle to win the figure.
*An iOS App called ‘Sonic the Sketch Hog’ has been announced.

Binary Domain, the game by Toshihiro Nagoshi will be released (in all territories) in February 2012. This can be seen at the end of a new trailer.
You can also check out the official website for an overview of info and media.
Eurogamer reports:
‘The hack that compromised the personal details of 1.3 million Sega users happened after the company had already tightened security in the wake of the PlayStation Network breach, Eurogamer can reveal.
The company promised over the weekend to “further strengthen [its] network security as a priority,” as a result of last week’s attack.’
