as well as some news screenshots.

*Will SEGA’s latest arcade game ‘Operation G.H.O.S.T.’ be a sequel to Ghost Squad? We sure hope so! (thanks: SegaOnline)

*According to 1UP, SEGA is working on a new Shining Force game.
Creator Tsuyoshi Sawada quoted: ‘Currently, we’re preparing a title that sums up the whole series and should provide an answer to users’ curiosity. I can’t give details yet, but I’d like to reveal it before we go too far into the future’.

*Bayonetta’s back..in ‘Developer Commentary part 2′ by PlatinumGames’s Director Hideki Kamiya who ‘has been playing his creation, recording not only his game play, but a commentary track on the inspiration, creation, and intent behind one of the most revered action games of all time’

Puyo Puyo 20th anniversary update

‘PuyoPuyo! 20th Anniversary is scheduled to release in Japan on July 14th. The game will come in both regular (5,040 yen) and anniversary box (8,379 yen) editions’ (thanks: Siloconera).

*TSSZ News posted two more screenshots of Sonic Generations.

*SEGA Japan opened up their official Sonic Generations website.

*Now up for auction in SEGA’s Play for Japan campaign; a Dreamcast pack.

*Golden Axe 2 and Streets of Rage 2: now available from iPhone App Store.

*Official Nintendo magazine UK reviewed Conduit 2 and awarded it an 8/10.

*Sonic Generations:
-Gamespot posted the latest screenshots.
-A ‘rough’ Japanese release date. Famitsu magazine says ’Winter 2011′.
-TSSZ News reports that the game’s already available for pre-order.
-If you’re able to read French, Jeuxvideo did a decent preview
-Also check the game’s official boards (forums).

*The playable Virtua Tennis 4 ‘World Tour’ demo is now available to all PSN users (instead of just the PlayStation Plus users).

*It seems some Japanese gamers figured the old ‘quick pull-out’ trick (by simply pulling out the IC card when a game is lost) was a good way to keep their online Border Break rankings up. SEGA Japan have now warned them that a penalty system will be in place soon. Cheaters never prosper..

*SEGA USA posted another one of those Anarchy Reigns ’character trailers’. Meet Nikolai Dmitri Bulygin the 32-year-old Cyborg.

*Would you believe SEGA is having yet another sale? Well, you better.

Sonic Generations unveiled!

SEGA working on ‘Saint Seiya’ MMO?

‘Saint Seiya?’ you might say (as did we). Apparently, it’s an ancient Japanese Manga series. Now for the news:

‘Recently, there are rumors that a 3D Saint Seiya MMO is being made by Perfect World Beijing and SEGA. Claimed by anonymous source, the Saint Seiya MMO has been co-developed secretly for one year by Perfect World Beijing and SEGA.’ [full news story]

Shogun 2: DX11 patch nearly here

Total War: Shogun 2 will soon receive a DirectX 11 patch. It is scheduled for the first week in May. ‘The update had initially been promised within two to four weeks of the game’s 15th March launch, but as explained in a forum post on the game’s official site, that was a little over-ambitious’. [full news story

*iPhone owners will now able to download their of version of Streets of Rage 2. It’s available from the App Store and will cost €2.39/£1.79.

*Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity remains in the Japanese all-format chart top 10 by selling another 8.822 copies (grand total as of now: 321.241).

*The Virtua Tennis 4 World Tour demo is now live and available exclusively on PSN to PlayStation Plus users for a week, then available to all PlayStation users a week later. Remember the full game is released on the 29th April. (thanks: SEGA Europe)

*SEGA USA celebrates the launch of MLB Manager, and to help usher in the Springtime and the many new features being added to the game, they are offering special bonuses and awards.

*SB*Nation is doing a feature in which they simulate all eight of the first-round NBA Playoffs series by ’using the worst 1990s basketball video games we can find’. Their first round (SEGA) picks:

Mario & Sonic return for 2012 Olympics?

‘Users on the Sonic Stadium forums have captured what appears to be leaked (and temporary) box art for two upcoming SEGA games, one of which features a logo for the new, recently teased Sonic game.

[..]A second leaked cover also indicates that SEGA is working on
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games for Wii. No surprise there, as the first Mario and Sonic sold over five million copies and its winter-based sequel did another six and a half million. We’ve contacted Sega for comment.’

*Eurogamer did a quick review of the Windows 7 phone version of Super Monkey Ball. ‘The fact that Sega has merely ported the show wholesale to WP7 without taking the opportunity to fix what was so obviously broken is disappointing, if a little predictable.’ Hmm..

*SEGA will bring SEGA Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 part 2 to XBLA and PSN this summer. We presume a price point of 800 MS points / $10.

*SEGA USA posted a trailer of the XBOX360 (Kinect enhanced) version of Virtua Tennis 4.’Tennis has never been better’, apparently.

*SEGA USA also updated us on the new Sonic game (Sonic Generations?).

*The soundtrack of Total War: Shogun 2 was added to iTunes. Price: $9.99

*Jeuxvideo came up with a tasty rumour; SEGA’s Kinect-enhanced horror adventure Rise of Nightmares might arrive as early as June.

*For those of you still hoping for an HD (XBOX360 / PlayStation 3) version of Sonic Colours; sorry, but it’s not going to happen.

*Several new features were added to SEGA’s facebook game Sega Play! Baseball. Go check it out, if you haven’t done so already.

*Just in case you missed them; a trailer of the Wii version of Thor: God of Thunder, a ‘behind the scenes’ with Thor’s developer and a new trailer of the Wii version of Captain America: Super Soldier.
