The sales are still a little slow, but at least Football Manager 2010 claimed back the #1 PC spot..

*There a some colourful new screenshots
*An overload of commercials
and even some t-shirts..

’till next week!
*SEGANEWS.NET will always support SEGA homebrew efforts, so it’s only natural we’ll give the latest Dreamcast commercial homebrew release a plug. Irides: Master of Blocks will be available from 12/12 through the Goatstore. Check all the collected information and media HERE.
*Saturn homebrew development isn’t standing still either; currently a clever soul is working on a Saturn SD card adapter. It will be able store your save-game data in a convenient way. Not too bad an idea, really!
*Finally, a rather ‘low-profile’ Megadrive release was added to Wii Virtual Console; Shanghai II: Dragon’s Eye. Cost: 800 points.
*Do you remember the ‘behind doors’ video that was shown during the 2005 E3? It had footage of a new Sonic game, Virtua Fighter 5 and After Burner Climax. Well, we never really saw the last one outside the arcades (the PSP got a version, but that was different) but that might be about to change, as rumour goes After Burner Climax is heading for the consoles after all..
*Dutch SEGA news site SegaOnline posted a news story of Napoleon: Total War. Here are the highlights:
-The game will be released in four (!) different versions; a standard edition, an ‘imperial’ edition including an A3 poster, a digital download version (via Steam) and the digital download of the Imperial Edition (with special units). See the link for pictures of the packages. Release date: February 2010.
*SEGA Europe gives you the change to win a trip to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games. Check out the full details HERE.
*It’s probably been a while since you’ve popped MadWorld into your Wii but SEGA USA lets us know the game was nominated for ‘best Wii game of the year’ by the Video Game Awards 2009.
*Bayonetta might have received several high ratings in the press and sold a considerable amount of copies yet, but it’s not all good. Eurogamer looks at the difference between ‘magnificent’ XBOX 360 game and the ’so so’ PS3 version. Sadly, SEGA programmed the latter..
*Bayonetta might have dropped to #12 but SEGA Japan got another chart topper on their hands; J-League 6 - Pride of J (PSP) was the best selling all-format game of last week.
Some more review scores of Jambo! Safari and Phantasy Star Zero (DS)
came in:
-Jambo! Safari (Wii) - 6/10 (Eurogamer)
-Jambo! Safari (Wii) - 5/10 (Nintendo Life)
-Jambo! Safari (Wii) - 6/10 (Gaming Union)
-Phantasy Star Zero - 4.7/5 (Cheat Code Central)
-Phantasy Star Zero - B- (1UP)
-Phantasy Star Zero - 7.8/10 (GameZone)
*There’s just no escaping of Bayonetta; news reached us EDGE magazine (ahem) awarded the game a perfect score. There’s also a new video and news about the demo.
*Jeuxvideo posted 26 new screenshots of Phantasy Star Portable 2. A return to PSO’s Caves? It seems so.
*Finally, some rather funny DLC for LittleBigPlanet was announced, check out some Sonic themed Sackboys HERE. (thanks: SegaOnline)

Due to reasons beyond our control, SEGANEWS.NET will be back on monday. See you then!

*‘SEGA has admitted Bayonetta PS3 loading times are ‘’overwhelming'’ but says a patch is ’under consideration’ to iron the problems out’. Read the full news post on Eurogamer.
*Eurogamer also reviewed the (imported) game and gave it a healthy 9/10. Read the full review HERE.
*SEGA Europe posted the first part of the Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll dev diary with franchise creator Toshihiro Nagoshi. There’s even more (including a Thanksgiving wallpaper and gameplay trailer) on a SEGA USA blogpost.
*Bayonetta dropped down the Japanese all-format chart last week; #8 (PS3 version) and #15 (XBOX 360 version). Hopefully sales will pick up soon..
*Eurogamer posted a review of Jambo! Safari (Wii). The game scored a ‘not too impressive’ 6/10.

*It’s been a while since we heard of Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll, so this trailer is rather welcome.
*Segadatabase network update: I added a cool comparison between the alpha/beta and retail version of Red Dog (DC) to the boards. Go check it out!

’till next week!
*SEGA Europe posted a Planet 51 trailer from the DS version. It looks alright.
*Adding loads of retro games to the Virtual Console is nice and all, but we need quality not quantity. Well, SEGA USA thought the same and added Wonderboy III: The Dragons Trap (SMS). Price: 500 points.
*Jeuxvideo posted some new Yakuza 4 screenshots. It’s mainly ‘people’, but still a good selection.
*Gametrailers added a Phantasy Star Portable 2 trailer entitled ‘Vortex Battle’. It sure does bring back PSO memories..
*PSP owners are a lucky bunch as these new Valkyria Chronicles 2 screenshots also look rather promising.
*SEGA Japan’s capturing machine must be running overtime as there’s also bunch of new Resonance of Fate screenshots HERE.
*Review rating update, the first Jambo! Safari review score came in:
-Bleach: The 3rd Phantom - 5/10 (NintendoWorldReport)
-Bleach: The 3rd Phantom - 7/10 (GameZone)
-Football Manager 2010 - 8.5/10 (play.tm)
-Football Manager Handheld 2010 - 9/10 (HeXus gaming)
-Jambo! Safari (Wii) - 7.8/10 (WonderwallWeb)

SEGA USA posted the first part of Sonic & SEGA All-stars racing dev diary. It’s compiled by Sumo Digital employee Steve Lycett and contains company information, the history behind the game and early production art. A good read! Check it out HERE.
*Jambo! Safari is about to hit the shelves (strangely no reviews yet) so SEGA teamed up with Pizza Hut to promote the game. Four Jambo! Safari ‘activity packs’ will be available for children (and SEGA geeks).
*Some End of Eternity (Resonance of Fate) scans from Famitsu weekly were posted HERE (scroll down).
*PlaySEGA had a major overhaul. There’s far too much new content to post here so take a look! VIP members will be able to play various Megadrive games and claim a free Saturn style USB pad.

*While SEGA Europe has success with Football Manager and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, SEGA Japan now claims some much-needed software success with Bayonetta. The PS3 version of the shot straight up to the #1 position in the all-format chart, while the XBOX 360 version claimed #7. Nice!
*Last week we reported of the European limited edition of Bayonetta; the ‘Climax’ edition. We posted a picture of the XBOX 360 version, but it seems PS3 owners don’t need to miss out, as HERE’s the PS3 version.
*SEGA USA posted details of the Bayonetta demo. It seems only 40,000 people will be able to play it..
*IGN posted three new Bayonetta trailers. Check them out HERE.

4 Gold, 10 Silver and 23 Bronze in all.

’till next week!
*We were one of the first to report of the portable Master System xx-in-one consoles. Well, Play.com started stocking the item and posted some product information. We’re sad to report the game selection is -again- absolutely terrible.
Where are Sonic (1), Kenseiden, Shinobi, Castle of Illusion (Disney trademark trouble I guess..), Asterix, Psycho Fox and Wonderboy? Instead we’re stuck with three Columns clones (talk about overkill!), Sonic Spinball (not again..), Ristar (A Game Gear game last time I checked, as are Sonic Triple Trouble and Sonic Drift Racing!) and several ‘really not suited for such a small screen’ games like Gain Ground and The Ninja. Somebody shoot these guys, thanks.
*Finally, there’s some more news on Pier Solar, the homebrew Genesis/Megadrive RPG. Good news too as the team made some huge progress. Check out the situation HERE (don’t pay attention to the newsdate, it’s a mistake).
*The first people registered their best Rush Rush Rally Racing times. Check out the leaderboard HERE. Both editions of the game are still available from Redspotgames.
*TDGMods posted a trailer of Hypertension, their take on the classic PC game Blood. There’s an interview with the team as well. Oh and it’s a Dreamcast project, sorry Saturn fans.

SEGA USA posted both the XBOX 360 and PS3 game covers (quite an unusual style, really) and various partners such as Lindsey Vonn (Alpine Skiing), Seth Wescott (Snowboard cross), Kristina Groves (Speed Skating)
and Matthew Morison (Snowboard).
Check out the packshots and partner photos HERE or take a look at the
official website.
