SEGA finance report
Posted by: S.F @ 7:37 pm

Still losing money? Sadly, yes. $108 million to be exact. Mostly down to (again) the bad pachinko and arcade business. Thankfully, there’s also good news to report, as they also posted sale results of both Virtua Tennis 2009 and The Conduit, which aren’t all that bad, really. Read all the details HERE.

*A new trailer of Aliens vs. Predator was released. Check it out HERE.

*So, Yakuza 3, what’s going on? Not much! According to SEGA USA marketing manager Ray Almeda, sales of Yakuza 2 (PS2) were just not big enough to justify a release of the third installment. Full article HERE.

*Two SEGA games were rated by Famitsu Weekly (thanks Gamefront):
-Bleach DS 4th: Flame Bringer: 8/8/7/8
-Sonic Chronicles: Yami Jigen Kara no Shinryakusha: 8/6/6/8

*Looking for a specific SEGA game on your iPhone? Let SEGA know! ChuChu Rocket! seems like a popular candidate.

*The official website for Daisy Fuentes Pilates is now live! Go check it out, why don’t you.

*OpenSonic, an open source game based on -you guessed it- Sonic the Hedgehog is planned for release on the Dreamcast. Media and information can be found HERE.

*Three interesting DC homebrew projects were featured on DCEmulation. There’s Pipepanic, Pxdrum (a drum machine simulator) and an update of The Great Giana Sisters.

*After the auctions of Virtua Hamster and X-MEN some weeks back, there’s another unreleased SEGA prototype being sold on Ebay at the moment. The game’s called Bills Tomato game and was produced by Psygnosis. With four days to go it’s already rather expensive!

Yeah, it’s another one of those Saturdays without anything much to update with. So, grab a beer (or soda), hook up a classic SEGA console and play one of those classics that deserved some more of your time.

Short news roundup

*SEGA Europe confirmed that Nintendo DS game Bleach: The 3rd Phantom will be released in Europe. We’ll have to wait untill 2010, though.

*They also posted new screenshots of Wii game Wacky World of Sports on their Flickr page.

*Finally, they uploaded a ‘lifestyle’ trailer of The Conduit.

*Remember that highly rated Wii game 428? Well, it’s coming to the PSP and PS3. The release date isn’t yet announced and it’s unlikely we’ll see the game in the USA or Europe.

*EDGE magazine, notorious for their ridiculous review scores did it again;
The Conduit was rated 4/10. With a metacritic average of 7.4/10 (based on
22 reviews) and 8.6/10 (based on user reviews) you just -might- want to ignore their snobby opinion and make up your own mind.
