The Nintendo DS game Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is released in the USA today. Press reviews have been mainly favourable with a current ranking of 7.9 on Gamerankings. More information can be found on the SEGA USA site.
You can check out their upcoming TGS 2008 line-up on a specially created site. It features the likes of 7th Dragon, Yakuza 3, Bayonetta and Phantasy Star Zero. It’s all in Japanese (unsurprisingly), but should still give you an idea of the ‘things that are coming’.
Oh and they even compiled a list of the goodies (Phonecards, stickers, DVD’s..) that will be given away!

It finally happened; Mario & Sonic dropped out of the UK all-format top 10 thanks to new software such as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. It’s still around in the Wii (#9) and DS (#10) charts, though. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it return next week either..
Other games listed; Beijing 2008’s still in the PS3 and Xbox 360 charts at #9 and #10 respectively, Football Manager 2008 and Medieval II: Total War remain at the #1 and #5 spots in the PC budget charts, The Incredible Hulk makes a re-appearance in the PS2 (Full price) charts at #10, but more importantly Yakuza 2 (strangely listed in the ‘PS2 Budget’ chart) makes its debut at #7, while The Golden Compass still remains at #6. Crazy.

While the secret ‘Dragon’ project will be unveiled in this weeks’s Famitsu magazine, SEGA and Prope (Yuji Naka’s new studio) came up with yet another mysterious new game. ‘World first, the game that even penguins can play’ is our only clue. Its site has a countdown timer and apparently we will know more about it in sixteen days.
A new Doki Doki penguin land for the Wii? A South Pole MMORPG? Let the speculation begin!

And is The Golden Compass still in the PS2 budget charts? The answer is yes. (#6)

SEGA USA released another Sonic Unleashed trailer on their Youtube account (it can be watched on high quality, make sure it’s on). It shows Sonic rushing across the Great Wall of China as well as the new ‘Werehog’ creature in action.
Another drop for Mario & Sonic, from #6 to #8 in the all-format charts. (#7 Wii, DS #10). Not bad for a game that’s been on the charts for roughly 40 weeks. Beijing 2008 drops out of the all-format top 10, yet remains #6 for Xbox360 and #3 for PS3.
PC budget games; #1 Football Manager 2008, #5 Medieval II: Total War , #6 Universe at War.
Oh, and The Golden Compass still floats in the PS2 budget charts at #7.
‘Inspired heavily by Phantasy Star Online, Phantasy Star Zero will be a Nintendo DS exclusive and will let players team up with other Hunters via wi-fi, immerse themselves in a whole new story, and enjoy a new image chat feature, similar to PSO’s Symbol Chat, which will also take advantage of the DS stylus’ capabilities.’

People in Europe waiting for Samba de Amigo (Wii) will now have to wait a little longer; SEGA delayed its release a week; new date being September 26. This is possibly done to get the online download system up and running.
Golden Axe: Beast Rider (Xbox 360 & PS3) is now mere weeks away, so SEGA released a new trailer that can be seen HERE
Mario & Sonic slips out of the top 5 in the all-format charts at #6. (#6 Wii, #5 DS). Beijing 2008 loses slightly more ground from #3 to #9. (#3 Xbox 360, #2 PS3). Three games made the PC budget list; Football Manager 2008 still remains at #1 (no surprises there), Medieval II: Total War climbs two places to #4 and Universe at War enters the chart at #7.
..yes I can see why. 49(!) pages of SEGA stuff of a Japanese collector. Impressive, very impressive..
